Clients
using Retin-A, Accutane, Glycolic Acid, Renova, Steroids, Cortisone Crème q
Clients
with cancer or undergoing radiation therapy or chemotherapy q
Clients
with phlebitis (extended varicose veins) and be cautious with Diabetic clients. q
Over
moles, warts, sunburn, open wounds and cuts, fever blisters, abrasion,
inflammations q
Clients
with hemophilia q
Over
areas of extremely thin or fragile skin q
Nipples,
eyelids, inside of nose, inside of ears Waxing
Hazards: q
Avoid
Sun Exposure, hot water, extreme heat, chlorinated water, perfume, underarm
deodorant, make-up, essential oils, and tight clothing over waxed areas for at
LEAST 24 hours. q
Areas
waxed may be red, irritated, swollen, broken out, stinging – these symptoms
usually go away in 24 hours. Helpful
Hints: q
If a
client has a tendency towards ingrown hairs, suggest body exfoliation prior to
waxing and after waxing q
Avoid
over-stimulation of skin after waxing such as a salt glow body treatment or
highly aggressive facial treatment q
Female
clients maybe more sensitive to waxing a few days prior to and after her
menstrual period. q
Patch
test clients who appear to have extremely sensitive skin q
If a
client is highly acidic, a non-prescription antacid tablet before waxing may
help. |
